Awarded Eden Conservation Prize

In 2007 Morland Hall won the Eden Conservation prize, an initiative for the restoration and preservation of heritage sponsored by Eden District Council in Cumbria.

The prize was awarded in view of the high quality of workmanship, attention to detail and the careful choice of materials.

Eden District Council recognised that by the 1990’s demolition was a serious danger, but instead a programme of extensive repairs, rebuilding (including the impressive tower feature) and a complete refurbishment was undertaken to bring the Hall back to its former glory.

Many classic and historic features and character which could easily have been lost have been instead retained. For this Eden and Cumbria owe a debt of gratitude to the care and attention of the present owners.
